Do you have a Facebook Profile for your Dog or Cat?
How about one for your Sewing Club?
Or even your Business?
If you do- you best be moving these to the Facebook PAGES. Yes you heard that right! Facebook announced that they will be shutting down profiles that are not PEOPLE.
It really has to do with Facebook being IPO and wanting to have the true demographics for it’s investors. Let’s face it- Facebook has the best demographics for business, but if they are FAKE- not a good thing.
So before you start to panic- you can convert Fido’s profile (your business, kitty, club, etc) to a page. whew!
But before you do- you will want to back up your information including but not limited to the “about” section and your pictures. I would suggest making a note of who your friends are. Even though Facebook says they will convert to subscribers on your new page, there is not guarantee that they will.
To convert your Kitty’s Profile to a Page- go to Facebook Help Center
Once your have switched your Business or other non person to the Page- Facebook will guide you through the steps to finish creating the Page. And of course it will take a little tweaking to get the Page the way you will like it. But once it’s done – you’ll be Facebook legal and you won’t run the risk of Facebook shutting down the Fake Profile and losing all your information and pictures.
Now you can invite your friends (you did make a list?) to “Like” your new Page. So instead of your Kitty or business etc having friends, they will have Likes aka Fans! Whooo woo.
If we can help you with this process- let us know. We will be happy to assist you. You may send a message via Facebook on Kelley ProMedia and while you are there….don’t forget to “Like” our page.
